Hose connection made of aluminum and BSP external thread. The specified connection diameter refers to the largest diameter at the connection. Please note that soft rubber hoses require a connection diameter that is 1-2mm larger than the inner diameter of the hose, but for hoses with little expansion (e.g. PTFE), the connection diameter should correspond exactly to the inner diameter of the hose.

BAT TECH TIP (because knowledge makes the difference): BSP threads are traditional British pipe threads that are often found in plumbing installations, but also in vehicles. ATTENTION, for the BSP thread the size information does not correspond to the measured outside diameter of the thread! For example, a 1/2" BSP thread has an outside diameter of 19.17mm and not the expected 12.7mm. Originally the information was based on the inside diameter of the pipe. For example, a pipe had an inside diameter of 12.7mm (1/2" ), then the required external thread was referred to as a 1/2" thread. This information has continued into today's DIN ISO 228 and always causes uncertainty among newcomers to thread determination. You will definitely need a seal on the BSP side. The type of seal required depends largely on the respective workpiece or its sealing surface. If the thread in your workpiece has a chamfer, then an O-ring can be used. If the sealing surface is flat, sealing rings made of copper (do not use on bare aluminum as contact corrosion can occur) or aluminum can be used. If the sealing surface is uneven or damaged, the thread can be reliably sealed using a chemical thread sealant.
